This weekend I had the opportunity to be a part of The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s (“LLF”) Children’s Halloween Party. The 5thAnnual Children’s Halloween Party (“CHP”) was held at Treasure Island Elementary School in North Bay Village. LLF invited over 800 underserved children and their families from their partner facilities including Chapman Partnership for the Homeless, Lotus House, Overtown Youth Center, Carrfour, among others.

LLF is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that assists underserved children and their families. This support comes through the deployment of LLF’s volunteers. Volunteers work with children in an array of different facilities and environments ranging but not limited to, homeless shelters, hospitals, and youth centers.

The Children’s Halloween Party was a hit, the children and families were given Halloween costumes that had been donated by private and public schools across Miami. Once dressed, the families checked in and received a treat bag which they would use throughout the event to collect candies from each activity station.

Pin the Wing on the Bat …

The event was filled with many fun games and activities, multiple stations were set up with over 150+ volunteers on deck ready and eager to assist the children with a fun time!

A DJ was spinning music and playing games with the children throughout the entire event. Cotton Candy stations and Taco Bars were available for all guests at the event.

LLF’s Children’s Halloween Party is an amazing event for both the children and families. Halloween is a holiday which we all grew up enjoying and each year looking forward to…

What costume would we dress in?
How much candy would we receive?
How late could we stay up trick or treating?

To see these children enjoying themselves trick or treating in a safe environment gave me such joy and a renewed sense of community involvement. LLF has many events throughout the year that give back and help these underserved children and families.
