- July 16: Living with Water
South Florida is vulnerable to storm surges, king tides, and potential sea level rise, and Coral Gables is preparing for the time when we may see more water more often. Ride with us and see the most vulnerable locations and how we will manage tides, storms, and other water events in the future.
- August 20: The Historic Buildings of Phineas Paist
Phineas Paist (1873-1937) was the supervising architect for the Coral Gables Corporation. His buildings include City Hall, the Venetian Pool, the Colonnade Building, and the San Sebastian Apartment Hotel. His work is part of the glue that holds the image of Coral Gables together. Presented in partnership with the Dade Heritage Trust.
- September 17: Tour of Parks: A Coral Gables Cycle Day Event
On this tour, we will be traveling into space. Open space. The founders of Coral Gables knew that people want safe, beautiful places to be outside and to get close to nature. Come with us to visit some of the oldest and newest spaces in the City. No rocket required.
- October 15: Coral Gables Confidential
Beneath the surface of the City Beautiful are examples of human nature that are not so attractive. Bad behavior abounds on this tour of some of our notable naughty neighbors. It’s a spooky season special event led by former Mayor Don Slesnick. Presented in partnership with the Dade Heritage Trust.
- November 19: Discover Coconut Grove
Coconut Grove is one of Miami’s oldest neighborhoods and is a diverse mix of old and new. This tour visits historic sites, tree-lined streets, and bayfront parks for a complete look at one of Miami’s most desirable areas. Presented in partnership with the Dade Heritage Trust.
- December 17: Literally Coral Gables
It’s no fiction, the literary history of Coral Gables includes bookshops, libraries, and even a few writers. Mitch Kaplan, the owner of Books & Books, will lead the first edition of this novel tour of the written word in Coral Gables.
